maybe that's the solution - you should probably be stoned for it, it'll make the P&P parts easier to swallow...

I have found, even though I hate to say this, that with books written so long ago, it's easier to read them if you've seen a movie version first. So that's what I suggest. Find one of the P&P movies and watch it first.

It's the zombies man. All that intense zombie action makes the rest of the book slower by comparison. Really though Pride & Prejudice is better without the zombies. And that's coming from me . . .
