Well written. I wish it had more prospects at a politician's office than an intern skimming it to mark that someone is against SOPA.
I have contacted our senators and the representative in my district by email and phone. Cantwell's staffer told me via phone that the OPEN act, cosponsored by Cantwell, was an amazing alternative to SOPA and PIPA. I haven't evaluated it myself, but EFF suggested in December that OPEN is less cringe-worthy: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2011/12/alternative-sopa-open-process-befitting-open-internet.
Yeah, I got two emails from Cantwell's office about OPEN. It felt a little dirty to me, trying to appease that base and push an agenda during such a massive public outcry, but that's politics for you. Politicians somehow manage to creep me out just by breathing.
