You know, I never understood the origin of that turn of phrase--hit the deck. Logically you're an easier target if you're just cowering on the floor. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to shout 'take cover' or 'everybody don some heavy duty protective gear'? Seems to me that whoever would shout hit the deck is just asking anybody who's listening to lie down and die.

I believe it's meant to be a way of dodging shrapnel. ...And anyway, I think you're putting too much thought into a simple turn of phrase.

I dunno, maybe most people put too little thought into it. Though I suppose it's true shrapnel would be easiest avoided by maintaining low altitude.

The Exile spreads rumors and lies. He opposes all that Edensphere stands for and cannot be trusted! The Exile is a disease.
