if he looks like velveta cheese, then she should take him to the DR.

BUT the other day when I saw him, he just looked a little orangey, it wasn't that bad.

i agree "joanna..and I believe shes on her way there.I would imagine they will put him in the hospital for a few days until his liver matures(read that on web md,not that informed!!)and the cheesey look goes away.

dont worry about it, i worked at a pediatricians office
and a TON of babies had jaundice. it really does go away,
just make sure to use the the lights that they give you,
and stuff!

i want to see him!!!

Sounds like an RH factor.

Were she and the father's blood typed during pregnancy?

Britt does have the rh negative thingy going on. But had the shot before and i believe after birth. He is getting better and the doc isnt too concerned, as long as she will continue the lite theraphy at home. I gave her my infamous flouresent lite that was at my computer desk, and a flouresent light fixture..that she can lay on her basinette. Britt said he looked like velveeta cheese. But she does have a tendency to throw things outta of proportion!! Thats why i love her,so like he flighty mom!!

My brother stayed under special lights in the hospital for almost a week before it went away. I think its not that uncommon for babies to have.
