ANY SUGGESTIONS?

My very dear friends father has passed away We have been friends since kindergarten.She lives in LA,but the wake in celebration of his life, will me in my town. Is a plant or flowers appropriate? Or should I follow my heart,and do as I feel? should I dress as I would a funeral,or casual yet tackful. Any ideas will be appreciated,Im i that " ( Read more... )

Well, since she is going back on a plane (?), I think I'd make a charitable contribution in his name so she doesn't have to schlep a plant or flowers back with her.

And/OR, wait until she is home and have something special sent. I always prefer a dish garden or terrarium or basket of plants as they last so much longer and are a nice reminder of the deceased. For instance, my mom still has plants from my dad's funeral that arrived in a big basket and the reminder is nice, and comforting, for her even today. And, it's nice when it comes after the funeral hoopla is done and everyone seems to have forgotten about your pain!

As far as your outfit, wear white and tell them yer Asian!! Add glitter, and tell them yer an Asian Elvis impersonator!
