Chapter 1: Before the Trip

Chinen and Ryutarou are watching happily as Takaki, Hikaru and Inoo all went out of the resort to the beach, wearing their swimsuits. Inoo and Hikaru looked good, but Takaki seemed that he went overboard. He placed too much sunscreen on his body, which hopefully the sexy girls won’t mind if they saw it.

While playing on the sand, they continue to watch in awe as Takaki tried to woo a girl by using his seductive smile. Chinen even giggled when the girl said something and left Takaki speechless.

Over at the waters the two boys saw Yuto and Yamada playing. They went closer and saw Yuto carrying his best friend. Seeing as a fun way to play, Ryutarou told the little guy to hop on his back.

As he’s raising himself up on Ryutarou’s back, he felt someone carried him away. The next thing he knew that he is sitting on Daiki’s shoulders while the BEST member is walking to the deeper part of the water. Chinen wobbled from fear and held on Daiki’s hand, which held up to support him.

Chinen blushed the whole time as Daiki is carrying him around the water. He only had fun when he was put down and played with the other JUMP members. They splashed each other, see who swam the fastest, and snorkeled. Ryutarou, Yuto, Yamada and Chinen were marveled buy the colorful school of fishes underwater.

When nighttime fell, to be exact after dinner, Chinen pulled Daiki out of the resort, into the beach, at the window he saw Ryutarou’s little silhouette right in front of a tall Yabu silhouette.

Thinking positively that this will be his time, Chinen took a very deep breath and sat beside his friend on the sand, “Um, Dai-chan, there’s something important I want to say.”

“I suspected that,” he answered confidently, “You looked tense, and your face is red,” he chuckled, while pointing at the little guy’s pinkish face.

Chinen his head from right to left rigorously, to wear off the warmth on his cheeks, “Please be serious.”

Daiki sat still and stared at his eyes, ready to listen.

“Um, well…you remember the days that I would act weird, or my face would always be red, right? Um, I think that’s the effect of…me…liking you.” The little guy talked very slowly so that he would get the words right, especially the last ones.

It can be read from Daiki’s eyes that he is confused, “you have a crush on me?”

Uh-oh, Chinen thought. What if Daiki will be sad because he cannot like him back? What will be his reaction? Will he even answer to me?

The little guy continued to look, eager for a response. His friends just nodded, stood up and went inside the resort again. Chinen’s heart was crushed to pieces. Daiki just left him. Now what will he do? He looked with horror as he can see Ryutarou’s shadow inside the resort hugging Yabu. At least he got a happy ending, he thought.

Tears ran on his face as rain began to pour. He closed his eyes and looked up, feeling the rain hit his face. Daiki should at least tell him that he doesn’t feel the same way…

He never realized he slept under the rain until he opened his eyes. To his surprise, he can see that someone is carrying him to the resort. He turned and held the shirt of that person, thanking him silently for saving him from being drowned by the rain.

The lights in the resort made Chinen blind for a while. After slowly opening his eyes, he saw the he was placed on the sofa, still lying down. He rubbed his eyes, only to see that his savior is the same person who ditched him.

Daiki tried to explain, “I’m really sorry I left you there. I was really happy when I learned you like me, because…I like you too.”

The little guy seemed to be listening, and so Daiki continued, “the reason why I went back is because I was just too happy that I should hide. I’m sorry I’m soo stupid, sorry I left you under the rain, and sorry I didn’t respond to your confession.”

Chinen sat up and smiled (more like an evil grin), “of course I forgive you, but I want you to prove that you really like me.”

Daiki knew what to do, but before doing it, he took two towels and dried the little guy first before him. He happily rubbed the towel on Chinen’s dripping hair. After drying up, Daiki held Chinen’s face, slowly leaning forward and gently kissing the little guy.

It lasted for almost a minute when the BEST member pulled away. He chuckled at Chinen’s surprised and red face. Remembering that Chinen was soaked under the rain, he placed his hand on his forehead, “good. No fever.”

Chinen just laughed at his friend’s concern and hugged him tightly, “I love you Dai-chan!”
