What's Japanese extension? Is that like advanced Japanese, pre-college level? You should do what you feel is best and right for you. Though teachers will tell you sometimes how to handle things, the best is what you really want. It's nice to take their advice sometimes too. I'm not quite sure how courses are handled in Australia, but I know that I take what is required my final year of high school. I couldn't take Japanese due to band and I used to regret it a lot, now it's more like ... "ah well, there's nothing that could have been done with the situation anyway." You take which would benefit you best and what you like best. When I signed up for my art class, I was afraid that I wasn't going to do well at all because I've been so rusty all these years from just studying on the more technical things. Turns out... that it was my best class lol. Also, when I took Japanese 200 level, I was afraid that it was going to be hard -- and it did get pretty difficult later -- but I managed to get out ok.
