IC:

Character name: Fujimoto, Shiro
Fandom: Ao no Exorcist
Timeline: After death, so chapter one-considering his history established through chapter twenty-four.
Age: 51 years.

~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths:
It’s arguable as to whether or not his abilities are ~*magical*~, but Shiro is quite accomplished! He was bestowed the title of Paladin, only given to the greatest among all exorcists in the True Cross Order. Within the True Cross Order, abilities and skills are organized into five titles-Dragoon, Knight, Tamer, Aria and Doctor.

Shiro’s strengths lie within the Dragoon and Aria titles-Dragoons use ranged weapons, most often a variety of firearms, in combat. Arias use “Fatal Verses”, which upon being recited from scripture (Either the Bible or specific sutras), will instantly kill a demon. He has extensive knowledge in treating wounds and afflictions caused by demons, and even trained one of his sons with this knowledge, who later accomplished the title of Doctor. He also has trained a student to wield demon swords, who later became a master of the Knight title. He has also tamed one demon: specifically, a cait sith spirit. This spirit, later named ‘Kuro’, became Shiro’s familiar. (side-note-since Kuro is sentient enough to be apped as an entirely different character, he will not accompany Shiro… so it’s not like Kuro is a pet, or anything like that).

How would they use their abilities?: Shiro has been known to ask, “Won’t you use your strength for a more gentle purpose?”, but he does not believe in ‘keeping the peace at all costs’. If he has to raise some hell for the greater good of the people, then he will! He won’t be out entirely for his interests alone, and he certainly won’t go around picking on innocents without any justification.

Appearance:
To describe rather gently, Shiro looks like any human being at the age of 51 might. He has a few creased into the skin above his brow (Yukio’s fault); and his hair, once blond, now silvery-grey (Rin’s fault). He stands at 5’8’’, weighing 136 lbs, he maintains a fit build-still capable of dealing out a fair amount of ass-whuppin’s. He dresses the part of his occupation, a solid black cassock and white belt. He wears his exorcist’s crest and key of vanishment around his neck, and wears a pair of spectacles secured by a strap worn around his shoulders.

Background/Personality:
Exorcist of the True Cross Order; Paladin, Priest-these are simply a few titles Shiro Fujimoto was known by, before his traumatic death at the age of 51. He spent a whole lifetime devoted to maintaining a balance between peaceful Assiah, the realm in which humanity thrives; and chaotic Gehenna, the realm in which Satan reigns and demons reside. Travel between these realms is quite difficult, but demons do have the ability to pass through to Assiah by a limited number of means. Shiro started out his career as a brash, unpredictable sort of man. It was quite the surprise that he had taken up a destitute girl under his tutelage after saving her from certain death. This student was Shura, a particular child who had the unusual ability to wield a demon sword. At this time, he was an instructor of anti-demon pharmacology, and had arranged to shelter her within the True Cross Academy dormitories. At some point early on in his career, he presumably fell into good favor with Sir Mephisto Pheles, the chairman of True Cross Academy and Head of the True Cross Order Japanese Branch… which likely allowed the rest of Shiro’s fate to fall into place.

Two years before Shiro’s entire life would be turned around completely, he was sent out to Kyoto on orders to retrieve a specific demon sword-the Koumaken, otherwise known as Kurikara. This sword was an object of worship (honzon) owned by the Myou-Dha sect. He was dispatched by Mephisto to accomplish this task. Shiro unexpectedly faced an entire host of vicious monsters. Upon successfully recovering the koumaken… he fell unconscious from the trials he’d faced traveling within the mountain range.

To his complete surprise, Shiro awoke within the temple, his wounds tended to properly. One particular holy person, Tatsuma Suguro; the high priest’s son, was within the room when he woke up. Shiro admitted to Tatsuma that he should’ve been sent tumbling down the mountainside for that grandiose entrance of his, and repaid the monk’s kindness by making his intentions clear: Shiro would only leave after retrieving the koumaken.

After feigning illness and escaping from Tatsuma, Shiro found a large number of people suffering from the effects of noxious miasma. He interrupted a ritual and, instead, insisted on using anti-demon pharmacology to spare the lives of all those who were suffering. Shiro successfully cured the people, and out of the kindness of his heart-he would only leave if given the koumaken. Shiro took flight when discovered by the temple’s high priest, but it was not long before Tatsuma caught up with Shiro, to give him the koumaken. Tatsuma explained that he had unsheathed the koumaken when he was a child, and discovered it to be an empty demon sword. Shiro escaped, and brought the koumaken to the True Cross Order.

Not too much time passed before the True Cross Order was faced with an unusual predicament: one lower second class exorcist, Yuri Egin, was found to be pregnant by Satan. Working closely alongside Mephisto’s plans, Shiro submitted falsified reports that her child had been exorcised-but on the contrary, she gave birth to twins. One child, Yukio, only inherited demonic hindrances. The other child, Rin, inherited the power of Satan’s flames. The koumaken was used to seal away Rin’s power, and Shiro received both children as his own. From this point, he complied with Mephisto’s plans to secretly raise Rin until the boy was ready to accept his own power and become an incredible offense in favor of the True Cross Order. Shiro had always been a loose cannon: and this was a good enough reasons to conceal the truth, and he certainly never had anything against lying or bending rules he’s supposedly bound by.

To accomplish this, Shiro became a priest of the Southern Cross Monastery, nestled away in the urban sprawl of the True Cross Campus Town. He raised Rin and Yukio as if they were his own, even if he would be slow to admit this. Due to Shiro’s own incredible ability and power, he was one of the few who could withstand possession by Satan for some time. He lived his life pursued by Satan, and by willpower alone, he was able to avoid being possessed. It was around this time he began to settle down, easing into the role of a responsible father. He cleaned up his act, if only a bit: he’d kicked an awful smoking habit, and managed to keep his collection of dirty books out of sight from curious eyes, but he never managed to lose his cool-headed attitude. Falling into this role quite easily, he was known to have concern for the general welfare of people, to keep them from becoming the victims of rebel demons. No person who had approached the Southern Cross Monastery in need of Shiro’s assistance was turned away.

When the twins reached the age of seven, it became clear that Yukio was far more anxious and easily distressed than Rin. Shiro discovered the boy had inherited demonic hindrances from his brother: he had the ability to see demons, and was often targeted by them. It was at this time Shiro decided to ask Yukio to undergo training, and become one who would be able to stand up and defend everyone: even his own brother. This offer was accepted, and Shiro trained him from that day forward in secrecy, at times side-by-side with his first student, Shura. Several years into Yukio’s training, Shiro approached Shura with an unusual request. He asked if anything should happen to him, to instruct Rin how to wield a demon sword. The very idea of being cast aside in favor of the boys put Shiro on fragile terms with Shura, and this request was too much to ask. Shura refused his request, and Shiro stopped any pursuit on the matter: allowing her the freedom to make her own choices.

Shiro lovingly endured the trials of raising these twins. He’s insisted on less violent means-relying on offensive tactics only in the wake of certain peril. Rin was far more destructive than any toddler, who had the ability to cause more than his fair share of damage, even causing serious injury to his peers. He always called Rin to change his ways and act less on impulse, believing that he and his brother could rise above the mere consequences of their birth. He had frequently insisted that he had been raising a weapon for the True Cross Order to the very few people who were given insight to his plans, but that was a terrible lie: he was, in fact, raising the two boys as his sons.

At fifteen years of age, Shiro’s sons were well on their way to adulthood. Yukio was about to move on to a prestigious academy, and Rin managed to graduate junior high school, somehow was well on his way toward acquiring a job. However, the power sealed away within the koumaken was on its way to deterioration. The ill-fated day arrived, and Rin found himself brawling with a street thug possessed by a demon. Shiro was able to exorcise the teenager who attacked Rin, only to whisk Rin back to the monastery. He hastily explained the truth of Rin’s parentage: that Rin was not only a demon’s son, but the son of Satan. The koumaken was given to Rin, on orders to never draw it, a cell phone to call a certain contact, and he was told never to return to the monastery again.

This news was not received well by Rin. He thought Shiro was throwing him out for having become too much of a nuisance to handle. He told Shiro to never act like his father again-and those words afflicted Shiro greatly. For a moment, Shiro lashed out in a way which was entirely contrary to how he raised Rin, and this let down his guard, which caused him to become possessed by Satan. Shiro’s last loving act for Rin was to pierce his own heart while under Satan’s possession, to prevent Rin from helplessly being dragged into the depths of Gehenna. This act killed Shiro, and left Rin and Yukio orphans once again.

Have you read up on how the game works?: The Guide communication plug-in is called FlamingFerret! Characters may earn money by completing missions, mooch off of another character, or steal (but they may get caught!)

1st person sample:
[ The video starts out shaky enough, as Shiro receives the Guide into both hands. He appears to be speaking to someone out of frame… ]

Well, that is nice of you, but what I really need to know-

[ He trails off, apparently the person assisting him had walked away. A short breath passes through his teeth before he mutters, ]

Dear, me. Are all of them in such a terrible hurry?

[ …and here’s the awkward moment when he realizes that he’s broadcasting live across the network. He lifts a hand to rest upon the side of his head, forcing a rather awkward smile. ]

So, how many of you out there feel as if you’re caught in some awful nightmare?!

3rd person sample:
Those fingertips of his flex toward his palms… pain in those joints protested every single movement. Filling out all those forms nearly wore out Shiro hands, and the fact that he questioned every step of the process seemed to aggravate the whole process. He had set out on his own way already, moving through the crowds. At some point he’d step away, finding some place to himself, away from that busy hustle among the other refugees on this ship.

Shiro looks down upon those palms of his, now faintly remembering the final moments of his life-yes, that’s right… he died, hadn’t he? So now what was he doing here, all in one piece? Those memories were ghastly, as he recalled tearing his own fingers from his hand … just thinking about it made these fingers ache all the more! He no longer had a wound piercing through his ribcage and into his heart. What exactly was going on here? He had a strange suspicion this wasn’t quite the afterlife, not at all.

Crossing his arms loosely below his chest, he looked out a nearby window toward the vastness of space, along all those stars, his mind clearly on something else.

“Rin, Yukio… I pray the both of you are doing better than me.”

Questions?: Nope! Some of this application’s content had been revised from earlier applications to other games. Just a heads up if something seems similar… it’s all mine;;; !

Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: Yup.
