Retail; I love the interaction with customers, the control of my own money, and my friendship with my co-workers. The company actually values our opinions and wants us to excel so they can move us up if we wish to be moved up. It's always hard to like something that is just not what you think you were meant to do. I hit the 4 year mark at my company this year, and my original plan was to stay for 6 months. HOWEVER, I have learned a lot, and one of the most important parts was learning and understanding that I AM versatile and what I am good at is not limited to what I want to do with my life.

re: spare time - I struggled with this a lot, especially when I started and worked swing shift. I started making myself think of my other chores and art and cooking etc as another "job" - so i had to do it, whether i liked it or not. it sounds sort of dumb, but i ended up looking forward to making time for these other things I liked doing because i had narrowed my time off options to doing only these specific things.
