Yet another fandom post. I didn't mean to leave this till the last minute, but schoolwork comes first.
It's from
princeofwriting's prompt, "Seigaku at Kawamura Sushi." Just a drabble, 200 words. I hope you like it, Echizen.
It is another chaotic evening at Kawamura Sushi as Seigaku celebrates another successful match. This is what is happening:
Fuji calmly eats wasabi while Horio, Katsuo, and Kachiro watch from their table in horror. At another table, Inui adjusts his glasses and advises Kaidoh on a new training technique. Kaidoh nods as he chews his sushi.
Momo and Eiji fight with their chopsticks over the last of the anago. Momo wins and swallows the last one with a triumphant laugh.
Eiji sulks until he sees Echizen quietly eating his food. "Nya, Ochibi! Good match today!" he says, tackling him.
Tezuka and Ryuzaki-sensai are sitting at the bar, quietly discussing the line-up for a future match. Taka-san moves from table to table, pouring more tea and making sure everyone has had enough to eat.
I look around, taking the scene in. A sense of easy happiness and camaraderie fills the air. It's in moments like these that friendships become stronger, our team becomes closer. No matter how diverse we all are, we are united, working towards the same goal of becoming our best at tennis.
And this is the payoff for all those long hours of hard work: success, and sushi.

Writing that has made me nostalgic. I think I'll look through pictures. ^___^
