I felt really present at Flipside without being out of my tent.
I either accidentally or intentionally have one of those evenings every event. It used to bug me that I wasn't out going and doing, and it still does occasionally bug other people, but now I embrace it. I'm not a night owl, so retiring earlier than most is inevitable for me most nights.
I love feeling half-awake, all-aware and listening to it all happen around me. I've usually pushed myself hard that day with play and heat, and my body is cooling down and relaxing in a way that just doesn't happen at home. I feel all loose-limbed and untethered, and I'll usually just lay there for at least and hour or so until I drift off. mmmmmm!
Babies and Flipside...that will be a different adventure all together. We took our boy with us to a decompression after we missed Flipside 2006....pregnant that year...wobbly health issues. He loved it...everyone seemed to know his name after a few hours. It was so cute seeing how people reacted to him.
Now that we have 2...we've talked about getting the same thing. My oldest wants to get into everything and my youngest wants to put everything in her mouth....they are so fun sometimes :)
