just out of curiosity, how much is each bill on average, like how much does it cost to have a surgery or to spend the night in the ER? I've always wondered that.
WELL...i don't know how much the hospital stay costs...i only know how much the services that the doctors provide cost...
surgeries range for $100-$25,000 (liver transplants) -So that is the first cost -the second is the hospital stay and supplies which i don't know cause I don't bill for that, the hospital does -the third cost: anesthesia...don't bill for that so i don't know but ranges again from the hundreds to thousands as well just doubt it goes as high as the surgeries -the fourth cost is if the doctor sees the patient while they are in the hospital...to check in on them or if they see them before the surgery and that ranges from $90-$650 depending on what type of care.
So it is definitely expensive. i could tel;l you the price of any surgery you want so if ya want more specifics let me know
I'm not sure, but do you do ER billing, or just normal surgeries.
Like would you know how much one of those operations you have after a heart attack costs?
Also, anethesia is high. Just to pay a nurse anesthitist, it can run you $130+ an hour. For a full anesthegeologist, it costs even more, and then you have to add in the price of the actual meds.
yes it IS all expensive. I don't know what test is done after a heart attack...I do billing for the ER so I could find out if I knew what it was called. ER visits can get even more expensive....they could be billed for what we call Critical Care and that is billed depending on how long of time the doc works on the patient. that first charge for that is $675 (FIRST 74 minutes) then addnl $350 for every half hour after that!
Plus if they do any procedures....sedation, sutures, all that plus supplies/anesthesia...ii don't know the difference between costs of nurse and doctor anesthesia...we usually can't bill if a patient is seen by a nurse but that may be different.
