The winds are finally dying down here in the Detroit area but all I can think about is that I wish I was in the UP the past 48 hours... the waves on Lake Superior had to have been phenomenal! The maritime stations out of Marquette, MI are reporting the average wave height on the east end of the lake were 26 feet high. This low pressure storm was ( Read more... )

I have been hoping to find more photos of the waves on the Lake but they seem to be scarce. From the few blogs I have found talking about the storm, the winds were out of the SW so there weren't big waves in close to the shore on the UP side. On the north shore near Wawa the waves would have been awesome, but it is hard to judge there size when there is nothing to compare for scale of height. I did find a couple of videos:
