I was at the gun range yesterday and one of the clerks waved me over to the gun counter. He pulled a SIG P250 out of the cabinet and asked me to take a look. It felt good and had a decent DAO trigger. I glanced at the price tag and then did a double take. $420 for a fullsize P250 with night sights! They had a compact 250 for $400. That is $200-300

As a side note, one of my colleagues picked up one of the Sig P238s, and after about a week, went back to his Ruger LCP for a BUG. I don't know what his chief complaint was about the P238, but there's another data point for you. The newer Sigs just don't seem to stack up well vs. the competition, at least from my anecdotal experience.

On that note, we are continuing to see issues at IDPA with the M&P's and Glock Gen4's. I will be sticking with my Gen 3 Glocks for the foreseeable future. A friend and I recently did an informal test comparing the XD 40, Glock 23, M&P 40, and H&K USP Compact in .40 and the XD really impressed both of us as to how easy it was to shoot compared to the others. The long mushy trigger reset was a pain in the ass but that can be cleaned up with drop in parts. For now I will stick with my 9's and .45's though.
Trebor-- we still need to tear apart your 1911... had I known you were going to be down this way for the fullauto shoot I would have told you to stop by. This week is pretty busy, but what does next week look like for you?

From what I understand the 250 hasn't sold well in the civvie market either. There have been compliants of light strikes and other reliability issues. The gun is developing a repuationa as something of a dog.
I tried a buddy's 250 and had two light strikes with Hornady Personal Defense ammo in one magazine. I reloaded both rounds into my CZ 75 and they fired find.
