Backing up an Android?

Backing up my iPhone is pretty much automatic with iTunes. It captures everything, apps, pics, preferences, music, contacts, etc. Is there an equivalent for the unrooted Android phones? I know a lot of people that recommend Titanium for rooted phones, but forestmaster does not intend to root her phone. Ideally I would like to sync everything in one location, ( Read more... )

I wish I had a comprehensive solution for you. I've migrated to almost all Google stuff in terms of calendar/email/etc. Mostly because their applications seem to work better in general, but also because of the integration with the phone. Some 3rd party apps do backups for you, but I don't know comprehensive that backup is. (Lookout, for instance.) So what I'm trying to say with all these here words is that I don't have anything good for you, brother. :-/

Better than anything else I have heard so far, so thanks. :) Any thoughts on password management apps?

I have yet to use one of those, so if you come up with a good one, please let me know. I default to a lot of variants of the same PW, which is horribly insecure....

I downloaded LastPass to give a whirl. So far I am rather impressed with it on my Mac. It is free on Macs and PC's, and $1/month on the smartphones so I figured I had nothing to lose. It is already helping clean up my passwords quite a bit and is surprisingly easy to to use. (I am currently using Firefox, but I will be trying it on other browsers as well.) I will post about it eventually... but not until I have used it for a while.
