[ off-network // coded into research notes ]That time, Al got closer to the Truth. I think he'll be fine while he's here, but now that he remembers more, the chances of a rebound are higher. If it was only the matter of exponential decay in the strength of the bloodseal, there's always... last resorts. But since it's also a matter of time, here....

Unless the timeline halts on the other side, per individual, there's no evidence that his being in the City will prevent his soul from bouncing from the armor back to his body. It's the only way. If the City did block any access to the Gate, Al's body wouldn't survive my being here this long in the first place. He'd probably not have even arrived with the seal intact, the pull would be too strong.... And the colonel and lieutenant are from later in the timeline, they'd have told me if....

But for that to happen to so many individuals from different worlds, what kind of clock are we dealing with? If time's become a carousel that starts from where we get on and that we forget when we get off, right back where we started... at least, according to alchemy, that means the memories - a piece of our minds - stays behind on that carousel, and physically, we never left home in the first place.

It sounds crazy, but in reality, here, we're practically ghosts. It's like we're being used by the City as materials, some sort of Philosopher's stone... almost like being in the Gate.

I've been busy for the most part but with all the people coming and going recently... it's gotten me thinking about the nature of this place. How people forget when they go and remember when they come back. It might be seasonal: curses run for twenty-four hours, weeks are made up of seven days, months go by calendars we recognize, so it can't be so different from a lot of our worlds in that respect. It could be that we're running on a different mechanism entirely, in which case...

...does anyone know anything about the clock underground?

[ ooc; Exponential decay, time's arrow lmao DISTURBED ED IS DISTURBED. Me too, actually, wat.

Okay aagh my timing's been pretty bad with the drop in activity this month due to my classes, so I want to explain how I'm going to roll with that as ICly as possible. Jen was extremely kind in letting me backdate the crap out of Al's posts, so here we go.|}→ Starting a little bit before the 4th Wall day (July 4th), Ed's been researching stuff in Xanadu; I noted for my hiatus week (July 16th - July 24th). So he's just been doing that all month, basically.
|}→ Grab bag weekend (July 11 & 12), Al had a body-incarnation of himself in the City. Oh the traumaaaaa.
|}→ Right after the grab bag weekend (July 13), Ed brushes it off to keep Al from worrying or feeling guilty.
|}→ Ed throws himself into his research even more to keep from thinking too hard about it, but Al gets canon updated (July 23).
|}→ Ed talks with Winry and feels less emo (July 29).
Sooo that's pretty much it. Sorry to those he's building CR with, I felt like I owed an explanation for the characters to play off if necessary. I'll get him back on track soon! ]

time's a crooked bow, one is all all is one, al-induced emu flu, research notes
