It had been a miserable full moon. The Potion, Remus was reluctant to admit, had been on inferior quality this month, something the brewer he had consulted had not warned him about, and the transformation was even more painful than usual. "Oh," Severus sneered, not expecting Lupin to be there. "I was hoping you were actually going to be someone useful."

Remus looked up to Severus and attempted a faint smile, at which he failed miserably. "Good morning, Severus," he greeted the other man quietly, putting down the newspaper he had been staring at.

"Surprised you think so." He raised an eyebrow, knowing it had been a full moon and what it did to the man. His eye caught the front page of the paper though - making his naturally sour mood worse.

"Though I suppose you've a bit to happy for. Congratulations." Severus Snape was probably one of the few who could say such a thing and make it sound truely insulting.

Remus sighed, turning his head to look at the smashed mug on the floor. He gave it a quick reparo and scourgify, picking up the empty mug and setting it on the table. He finally looked up at the other man. "Thank you," he said, disregarding the sarcasm dripping from Severus' voice. He'd found that generally that made things easier when speaking to the man. "I expect you're looking for one of the Weasleys? They'll be around here somewhere, I suppose."
