I agree with you. Pot has always worked as an anti-depressant for me and an anti-anxiety "medication". And I don't know if it's like this for you, but after I'm high and I start to come down, I still feel fine. I usually feel fine for at least two days after smoking too [[but I don't usually go that long without smoking. haha]].

The only problem I've ever encountered with using weed as an anti-depressant is that I have an addictive personality, so it makes it a little harder for me.

I only buy in small amounts since I got caught with it haha, so I don't smoke more than three or four times a week tops when I do have the money (or I mooch). But yes, even after I've come down I'm usually very chill and content for the next few days.
My mother used to smoke, as well, for her anxiety and mood swings but she prefers actual prescription shit since she got older and quit.
I would rather not support prescriptions, I know how hard it can be once you're stuck on them and I would never wish that upon anybody. Why are they even necessary when there are so many other methods that are all natural? I don't understand it.
Wait yes I do. It all comes down to money. How could I forget. Ugh.

i have moderate ocd as well, and i find that pot REALLY helps calm me down and forget my nagging worries.

moderation is key, and it also depends what you're smoking... what's flooding the market here is some 'knocked out tripped out' stuff, i find my anxiety is worse while smoking that. usually something euphoric in low doses does wonders for ocd.. even as it wears off..

of course doctors will state that the anxiety will return once the effects wear off.... BUT this is true for every other medication you will take because you NEED to keep taking it or the side effects might be extreme.. I don't want to be under the effect of a drug 24/7 . 365 days a year... as much as i hate being obessive about some things I enjoy my 400 miles an hour mind sometimes as long as I can channel that energy.

i couldn't have said it better myself. the good stuff is wonderful and helps you for days at the time. like i can slow down and actually get through the thought process to make a decision that's been weighing on me. but that stuff that just gives you munchies and drags you down just cues up all those thoughts that just jump in your head from nowhere and are unconnected to anything else.
i say just save up and buy the good stuff.

So this happens every time you smoke marijuana? Interesting finding, perhaps we are on the way of finding a new curative property of marijuana. Until that happens note that marijuana is illegal even if you smoke it to escape anxiety, you might want to try some legal herbs from International Oddities.

Most people in marijuana rehab are there under court order in a plea bargain to get out of jail time.

Marijuana helps my OCD tremendously. Seriously for a few days after I smoke, I feel completely "back to normal," like I felt back when I was a teenager and didn't suffer from this problem. I feel like there are medicinal properties here.

However, I do want to report that after 5 days or so of no use (I've only smoked a handful of times) my OCD does seem to get agitated and I start having anxiety issues that I didn't have before. It levels off back to normal after about two weeks.

Honestly the best thing that helps my OCD is exercise and working out, especially running / jogging.
