Writing Sample: The slam of a car door, the fading revving of an engine, and then silence. George sighed slowly and deeply as he stared up the exterior of the hospital, feeling a bit awkward as he stood there on the pavement before it. It was the same feeling as last time; the feeling of misplacement. It was new, different, foreign...and yet somehow the same. A nurse stepped out of the front double-doors, smiling warmly, and out of his habit of politeness forced an obligated smile back.
