This civilization is much closer to controlling the weather than many believe. Though it is in a twisted way: this civilization has (and utilizes) the power to CREATE earthquakes, tsunamis etc.

But what is the purpose of Controlling the weather when we can live as One with it instead.

Control and Power are tools of the Malevolent.

I would not be happy with seeing our planet achieve type I, II, OR III status. I would rather us grow into a Benevolent nationkind -- I think that is where our greatest potential lies. We do not have the foresight to weild control or power with wisdom.

i share your sentiments actually. i do not believe that we have the foresight or the maturity to wield the power to control stars and things of that nature.

the theory behind this is basically that a civilization either constantly advances until it attains the knowledge and most importantly WISDOM to expand outside it's home planet and possess such power, or because of it's lack of foresight and mindfullness, it destroys itself/it's planet before it ever reaches that point.

you made a good point about how we can somewhat control the weather now, albeit in and indirect way(our destruction of ecosystem causing changes in the weather pattern which leads to these increasingly deadly events).
