Ahh, I know how frustrating that can be! My hard drive crashed about 3 1/2 weeks ago, and I had NO backups, so I lost all my poor Simmies. :( I hope you manage to get everything working again!

(This is jihibukai, by the way, but I finally have my Sims journal up. I am adding you to keep track!)

And I should not have spoken so soon about my sims working again. The stupid thing keeps crashing now whenever Allegra gives birth. Baby's born, I name it and *crash.* Three times so far. My last back-up is from when she was almost ready to give birth. Gah.
