Devoid of a Destination

Dec 25, 2003 04:07

Drove to nowhere in particular early this morning. The slick streets, still wet from the rain, reflected the city lights. I was hoping to see the elaborate Christmas decorations in Fountain Valley, but apparently they turn them off after a certain hour ( Read more... )

Hey, that asian driver thing is true, man. My mom and dad are the two worst driver I know. I've basically taken to a fatalistic resignation whenever I sit in the passenger side with them on the wheel. My mom actually backed up into an open ditch one time, and on another occassion hit one of those traffic beacons and managed to puncture her own tire. My dad once totalled his car rear-ending someone on the freeway.

I agree..my dad's a french/scottish/irish mix...so he's real calm at the wheel...but goes completely crazy when someone is like. a beat off when the light turns green

my mom on the other hand is chinese...and she fucking will be waving her finger way up in the air and follow the car ahead of us to the point of no return..I hate being in cars with my parents. I'm going to die young XP

My Asian friends and I think that if we started forcing all the Asians to drive Vespas (those motor scooters they have back in the 'Old Country') our people would be able to maneuver around town like nobody elses business. (Ever seen how crowded those 'Old Country' roads are, yet the Vespas just zoom in and out of traffic like agile tigers in bamboo thickets)!

hahaha I think, even when I get my licence [i'm 15 right now.. 16 in june...there's these new restrictions to b.c drivers...i'd put down all the rules but it'd take up too much space...] i'll still use transit and skytrain to get to places...more relaxing anyways...

holy shit, it was snowing earlier today, and my neighbour tried pulling out the driveway..but backed right into a dish because of the wheels skidding on the ice, and i swear all hell broke loose...the funny thing was he was asain too..i couldn't help but to laugh because it reminded me of this little journal thingie..hahaha he was screaming at his wife that it was her fault and shit..oh man..good times

I hate that asian driver stereotype, but I hate to admit that it becomes true, especially with the Asian drivers at my school (which there are a lot of). I hate when stereotypes are true :/

There was a picture in one of the people's journals on my friends list of this car that completely could NOT park, and on the way to parking it hit a car too. Hilarious.

Actually! That happened to me too. I scratched an Asian woman's car while backing out, a month or so after I had my license. haha

Being that I'm not a driver, I can't really say anything about the Asians-Can't-Drive stereotype. Whenever I've seen an Asian behind the wheel, they seem to be alright drivers. If it is true, it's probably because they can't see the road with those squinty eyes of theirs

Joking, joking

I take solace in the fact that when it's bright outside, half the population turns into Asians - because they're squinting. It also reminds me of that 80's song, "I think I'm turning Japanese..."

So, if you're interested in Asian girls....you could always say you're part Asian, when it's REALLY sunny outside.

<(^.^)> Yeah, making those stupid 'face' things is soooo Asian...Ha! But I do it anyways.
