Toxic Sludge is Good for You! (about the PR industry)
People's History of the United States
The Teachings of Don Juan
...all highly recommended. I also have stack of books plundered from Vassar College. If you want to come over and look, it's your pick.

Try His Dark Materials ,

it's a trilogy by Phillip Pullman, very underrated as the great work of fantasy it is.

But it is a dreadfully absorbing book.

these are the ones i read post-graduation

brave new world -alduous huxley
notes from underground -dostoyevsky
heart of darkness -joseph conrad
ask the dust -john fante

my favorite was the dostoyevsky. i also recommend steppenwolf by herman hesse and the stranger by albert camus.
