I understand Helena Bonham Carter is wonderful in "Sweeney Todd" (even though she can't sing like Angela Lansbury, but then who can, really, so get over it, theater geeks.)

And my favorite performance of the year was Amy Adams in "Enchanted."

"The "Boy Is There Egg On My Face" Award: To Thomas Jane's character in The Mist."

Why? (I didn't see it, I'm just curious as to what this award means.)

Well, if I told you, it would kind of spoil the movie.

This ending is completely different from the short sory, BTW. I guess that was too ambiguous (I was pretty freaked out by it, though.)

Obviously, that link completely spoils the movie.

I don't think heartbreak could ruin Superbad for me. thespice December 28 2007, 20:27:57 UTC
Because, all things told, I think Superbad was *my* favorite movie in 2007. Which seems completely weird, but there you have it. Granted, I'm seeing There Will Be Blood with Bill tomorrow, and considering that 2 of PTA previous films make my all-time favorite movies list, it could push Superbad to #2 ( ... )

Yeah, Zodiac, I got on DVD because I enjoyed it so much in the theater, and I found myself kind of getting easily distracted while watching it on DVD. So, it might be for the best that you are hesitant about seeing it again. 3:10 To Yuma was quite well done.

Heh, I think Black Sheep would have only ruined our friendship if one of us REALLY liked it and the other one felt the way we both did about it. It might not have ruined the friendship, but it certainly would have put a dent in it. Hehe.

I did like Superbad a whole lot, and I remember when I saw it thinking, "This is a movie that I could find funny on repeat viewings." Maybe somewhere I'll find the theatrical cut on DVD, and then I'll pick it up. Maybe they have it in England or something. Gosh that Michael Cera makes me happy.

You expressed very well my feelings for "No Country For Old Men." wwolfe December 29 2007, 19:57:29 UTC
Well acted. Good photography. Morally, full of shit. "Look at Javier Bardim! Isn't he EEEEEvil??? (But ain't he kinda cool, too?)" The more I consider it in retrospect, and the more I hear the critical raves, the more it bugs me.

I agree with Kuzibah about Amy Adams.

Having noly seen two movies in the theater, I don't have much to add, other than that.

(I don't know if "Superman Returns" was '06 or '07, but having seen it on HBO this year, it wins my "I Can't Believe They Shot This Script" award. The whole story turns on...real estate? Really??)

Once! Once! Once! Once!Once! Once!Once! Once!Once! Once!Once! Once!

It was the only Sundance film I saw this year, and quite by happenstance.

If you only rent one film about Irish buskers this year, let it be this one.

I have it on DVD. Haven't watched it yet, and don't know if I'll get to it before 2008. But I am definitely looking forward to it.
