it will make the sounds the whammy bar makes. hold down your finger on the string, and pull it down and back up and you will hear the note scale up and down

i never really got that either, every tab site would tell me 'to bend the string you push the string down and BEEEENDD'. :(

i just did what all the commentors did & pushed the string up and down while strumming. it worked
