uplifting music sometimes gets to me more than i like to admit

hi again
so uhhh, i have more pleasant things to say, but first a RANT

so yeah, there appears to be a pattern forming, where things go wrong whenever i work a weekend. but usually its, someone show up late, the paperwork takes a while to figure out, or a cashier leaves me stranded where i'm the only one out there ringing people up.
BUT YESTERDAY

ugh i was going to do this whole huge play by play but just thinking about it all makes me tired all over again so here's the break down:
*we got twice as many customers as we ususally do on a saturday
*one of my cashiers left early for a family emergency and left me to run register with my only other help up front being a new guy who was only just learning our registers (thankfully he was AWESOME)
* we have these trailers for trucks that we keep in the back to fill up with excess donations (they go to a warehouse and get redistributed to other goodwills who get less donations) and they get replaced both weekly (a really BIG one) and daily (smaller), and BOTH filled up way early because they never got replaced that morning. so we had to start turning people away.

so picture me running back and forth between the front and the back, trying to help the new guy run register and answer his questions (and the normal customer queries) while also figuring out what to do with the back which involved calling my manager and assistant manager (both went to machine at first) and then finally the DISTRICT manager, because i needed SOMEONE to give me the authority to officially close the back for the day. i did eventually get it and then it was just a question of getting the ten-person-deep lines at the register cut down and dealing with OH YEAH BY THE WAY THE SILENT AUCTION THAT WAS CLOSING TOO. im not gonna get into it but the auction involves some serious paperwork and customer wrangling basically you cant do it AND ring people up for stuff. so thankfully i got my buddy vince to swoop in and take over the other register for me in time to handle THAT hot-mess! AND THEN we in a massive TEAM EFFORT shooed the 30+ people who were still milling around the store 10 min to closing. INCLUDING my least favorite customer ont he planet ( i HATE this guy) and we managed to lock the doors at 5:08

it was incredibly stressful.

so yes, that was my yesterday

i also hung out with vince two nights this weekend and watched a bunch of movies, which was pretty awesome

today i got up extra early to help work rearrange our dishes section into rainbow order (not my idea i SWEAR) which was kind of fun in its own way, and then our manager bought us all breakfast at the diner which was cool, it just sucked cuz after all that i still had a shift at work where i was GUESS WHAT AGAIN down a cashier. :P it wasn't as bad as the day before tho. it was suggested that perhaps the reason this keeps happening is because people thing im easy? or not scary? or something? so perhaps i should work on developing a stern expression sometimes. idk

but yeah, dispite whatever stresses my work-weekend may have held, tonys stress-story wins out, basically he just put in a full day of work on a sunday night unexpectedly

so we are both trying to relax and then hopefully get a restful nights sleep?
yes
that is all!
GOODNIGHT
<3
