You always have a say in the matter. Giving into "fate" is a horrible idea because it allows you to play the victim for the rest of your life.

you always have a say in what you do, but not what others do. you can act and react, and hope that others will act and react in ways that don't annhialate you. but then again, that would be only the reaction.

Is it that I'd rather be safe and content than unsure about my safety and go with the flow? I'm somewhere between here and there.
