What the fuck - go to them and be all hush hush? NOT THE POINT.

The protest isn't illegal, right? So you can basically tell them politely to fuck right off, right?

How many people have been protesting? Do you have a formal statement ready in case you are interviewed? Just wondering. *Looking up the numbers for the local news stations*

That's AWESOME about the SPD. Those fuckers.

Also:
YEA for the Mouse-Cookie books! I miss your wee ones so much. I wish I could hear C read.

I still love them, too! Give them smoochy hugs for me!

I think we should email back and say that we respect her position and her work, but that we have heard too many stories from women to think that each one individually going through a grievance process is practical or effective.

Tell her we realize that not all officers refuse to enforce the law, but that we have heard and experienced enough with women's personal stories to know that it is a widespread problem, and as such, needs to be addressed by the whole department, not officer by officer.

On top of that, the women involved in DV (as she knows) are far too stressed and often embarrassed or afraid to come forward and go through the process. They have too many other things to deal with - like daily survival.

And then tell her that we will be there this week, and the next until we see some concrete move on the part of the SPD to enforce the law in every DV situation.

NOW I STUDY, dammit
