My brother's wedding is coming up next June.  So it's about 8-9 months away.  I am soooo excited for them.  They have been together for about 6 years I think (it's been so long I can't remember).  They have a fantastic little boy whose 8 months old now (my little nephew) and Piper, their border collie.  I've been asked to be a bridesmaid which is ( Read more... )

"diet and exercise" it sounds so simple. It never is. I joined weight watchers online about half a year ago and lost 20 lbs. I'm not sure why that diet worked for me when nothing else has. I still don't exercise. I hate exercising. Another thing that helped me was to find something to keep me busy when I was bored. I noticed I ate a lot when I was bored. I took up knitting which kept my fingers busy and my mind occupied.

I do know the vicious circle you describe though. Being healthy is a wonderful gift for yourself... wedding or no wedding. I don't know you too well yet, but I'll be routing for you!

I feel your pain. I went from 240 to 190 about a year ago, and I'm frustrated because I can't lose any more. Of course, I'm not really trying at this exact moment. But when I WAS trying, it wasn't working. It's a good thing people know better than to ask me to put on a dress of any kind, because...no one needs to see that.

9 months is a long time, though. And with personal training, you'll get some results. I must admit...what helped me lose most of my weight was giving up excessive sugar. Not what you want to hear, but... :)
