A soft moan from the bed caused Jack’s eyes to dart over to Chloe. Instantly at her side, he runs the back of his knuckles along her cheek.
“Chloe? Chloe, open your eyes”
Moaning again, he sees her eyes flutter open. “Jack?”
“Yeah...keep those eyes open Chloe”
Looking around the room, she instantly sits up and gasps as her arm pulls on her shoulder.
“Jesus Chloe, stay still.” He helps her lean back against the headboard. “We’re at your cabin”
“Tony?” She whispers
“Over here Chlo” Tony moves closer to the bed. “I thought I told you to stay out of trouble?” He asks with a slight smile on his face.
Scowling, she rolls her eyes at him and looks back at Jack. “Are you okay?” Her voice heavy with concern she asks.
“Yeah Chloe…. You have a through and through to the shoulder though, so lean back” He tries to gently push her back to the bed when her hand pushes on his chest.
“No. We need to get moving” Swinging her legs over the side of the bed, she tries to stand.
Watching her body tremble, Jack moves in closer and wraps his arms around her waist. “Whoa there”
Clenching her teeth, Chloe relaxes back into the bed. “Jack, we need to go”
Brushing the hair from her sweaty forehead, he leans in and softly kisses her cheek. “Actually, I have a plan..”
