How would you feel if one of your best friends, who lives in another state on the same coast, told you she can't make it to your wedding because she is graduating from her master's program the day before? I want to know if I'm being ridiculous, but I think it's fucked up. If the tables were turned, I would graduate and then get on a plane from NC ( Read more... )

OK a) your feelings are very valid...b)this is what I would do if I were her...I would do my graduation thing and then come to your wedding and at some other point have my little graduation thingy i.e. celebration, party....there is no way I would miss one of my best friends most important days....you have every right to feel the way you do.

thanks, melissa. i just feel like that's a really shitty thing to do. i would not do that to her. i haven't responded to her yet (she told me in an e-mail). i will think about the right way for me to get my feelings across i guess.

oh, it's amber--from oneonta. i think you have met her before. she lived in newburgh, but now she lives in nc and we are still great friends and she kept telling me how she couldn't wait to go to the wedding and all this and then she sends me an e-mail two days ago saying that she can't go because of graduation. she didn't know when her graduation would be??
