Why are people so rude? We have an empty room in our flat that we need to rent out, and twice now we have had people supposedly coming to see it who just didn't bother to turn up. Don't people realise that even if they decide they don't want to do something, the other person is still left waiting around if they can't even be bothered to say 'sorry ( Read more... )

Hunting for roommates is the worst. I've had the same thing happen to me. Of course, I also had a girl show up to look at the room and start looking around like she owned the place. She started making demands and talking as though we would be lucky to have her live with us. Plus, she insisted that if she moved in, my roommate or I would have to drive her everywhere because she didn't have a car. Needless to say, we picked someone else. :)

I'm still trying to decide which is worse - waiting around for someone not to appear or trying to make excuses to crazy/arrogant people to explain why they can't go get their stuff 'right now'. I took down the on-line listings we had after some weird, bossy guy told us he was moving in, and I am now being much more selective, thankfully we aren't that desperate yet.
