I'm bored.
I work at 10pm tomorrow night so I'm staying up late to help my body clock a little. The tea with way too much sugar in it helps. Here's the plan...I'll be wired for hours, then crash. Wake up from a phone call, hang out and then take a nap. Wake up just in time to be 3 minutes late to work. Work and hit a wall at about 3:30. Sounds fun, eh?
So...What to write in this stupid blog. Well, how about my weekend? ok? ok.
Ummm...it started with my Thursday adventure of playing a song in an
Iced Ink set. If you have never heard of Iced Ink, you have not talked to me ever. It's basicaly the best guitarist I could hope to see play the best instrumental music I could hope to hear with his band. We played a little place called the Uptown Bar. Nice little joint. I haven't played there with my own band yet. Most of the night was spent watching Joe the bassist and Barry the drummer play some intense games of chess...
shhh...Joe's concentrating!
Mike also had an excruciating battle with his plate of nachos. I think it was a combination of the heat from the jalepinos and how full his stummy was, but he put up quite a fight. If it were not for his choice of food on this evening, I might not have come up with my idea for Spaghetti Nachos.
T'was a very lowly attended show for one of the best bands in the world...
But I did get to play...
Apperantly the show was supposed to be recoded, but the sound guy messed up or something. If it was and I get ahold of the mp3 of the song I played on, I might show it to people.
The next night I played a show with MY band. We played the good ol' House of Rock in Eau Claire. Driving there and back was a pain. It was around zero out and there were five people in the van. That equals fog all over the inside of the windows, which freezes and becomes frost. Blargh! We ended up playing first. As it turns out, no matter how awesome you are and/or what band you are, no one really gets rowdy for you unless you play not first. It was a good show, nonetheless. Just before we started I found this image Mike from Iced Ink made while playing around on my Sidekick...
Some of our regulars missed us. Greg from
Black Flood Diesel was telling us how they were going to get us on a 1st Ave show sometime. Probably a good idea on their part. It's doing no good having all the same bands play those shows all the time.
In the van ride John told us all his idea for a comic book. Ask him about it, for I will not do it justice trying to describe it. It was so funny I almost killed us while driving.
Saturday was the Garage. A relativly good show.
The Men Who Control the Weather played! I'm glad Johnny has finally got a working band up and running. He is a very talented individual, although I did whoop up on him in fantasy football this week.
Show happened...
John's pirate and baby nipple drawings are the best!
I then went to Cass' for a little party. Brought Jager and watched Junkers get stupider and stupider as he drank most of it.
Well, I'm sick of writing an entry. At least it killed a good chunk of time.
