Breaking Silence to Ask A Question
I've generally been using either G+ or my authorial blog rather than LJ. But this isn't really an author thing, and G+ doesn't allow cuts.
So:
The time has come when my doctor will finally take me out of the reproductive cycle once and for all, and apparently I have more options in that regard than I'd previously thought, so I wanted to ask if anyone on here has experience--first or second-hand--with Essure?
On the one hand, it seems like a good idea: non-surgical, cheaper, faster, etc. And I haven't heard any reputable source talking about serious side effects. On the other hand, the Internet seems to be full of posts like "I got Essure implanted and all my hair fell out and I gained fifty pounds and died", except with worse spelling, more capitalized words, and way more exclamation points.
My inclination is to consider the source there, but since this is a permanent thing and all--which I have no problem with re: the intended results--I thought I should check around. I have plenty of time to consider, since my consultation is in March, but more information is always good.
