It was fine, I took it out of my backpack and opened it, I hear a crack, I closed it to see what was cracking, and everything still seemed fine, then I opened it again and I heard a louder crack... and suddenly it became very easy to open and close the lid =P

At least it has accidental damage plus theft warranty, and is still under warranty, so I'm not too worried :)

I've seen them break at the hinges from stress, but never around the hinges. What'd you do, sit on it? :X

Nope, just opened it. Didn't drop it either :/ See above

No, this is my main laptop, an Asus V1S

LOL, from the article:

The hinges are very strong, the screen dosen't wobble or shake when you move the laptop, nor is it ridiculously hard to open like my old Sony.

Heh, looks like something I'd get handed at work.
"What, you saying I dropped it?"

Bummer, those hinges are exposed to a lot of stress. I baby mine but even it's starting to loosen up. (didn't mean to sound like 'you broke it', I just get tossed a lot of stuff that's damaged far beyond normal wear and tear :}

Well, yes, I too think they might say it's beyond normal wear and tear, which is why I'm glad it came with accidental damage warranty also ;)
