The Infinite Beginning
"It is not time," He said,
"It is not my time"
But she replied,
"Do as he says."
And weeping in Gethsemane
He remembers that time
And times before
Drinking with friends,
Laughing,
Over cheap ale
Served by cheap women
Redeemed now, forgiven.
And in the temple
Reading lines
That talk of stripes
He knew that time
Would someday arrive.
So He rises finding blood upon His brow
And a crowd approaching
And though He is timeless
Christ says, "It is time."
