D: I'm sorry that things are the way they are though I have not caused any of these things that are tormenting you but I know that things will get better. ♥

If your parents are having a bad time of it, it is in your sister's best interests for them to divorce. It will give her better opportunities in terms of the FAFSA. Ridiculous? Absolutely. Also consider that if things continue to be bad, but they want to stay together for the sake of the twins, that the twins will grow old enough to realize the situation is bad before they'll be glad your parents did not divorce (if ever).

I can appreciate your father's skepticism at counseling, however I have skepticism as to whether or not the right questions are being asked. Are your parents being honest with themselves with why they're fighting? Are the countermeasures (if any) that they are taking, being effective?

Best of luck.

Divorce isn't the worst thing. My parents did it when I was in... the 3rd grade? Something like that. Anyway, it was much easier for me as a kid to grow up and be normal with them separated and getting along than it was for me to have them living together and fighting every day and night.

But it's tough, every couple is different.

Anyway, Happy Birthday tomorrow!
