Currently downloading Windows 7 Beta. I'm very happy with Vista, but am eager to see how Microsoft have packaged Lucky 7. I hope it will catch on. Maybe Obama will endorse it.
7000. I'm loving it too. There don't seem to be very many bells or whistles (compared to Vista). Yes it is stable, and installed without a problem. There's a thing called Homegroup which at first looks like it replaces the Workgroup, but then I found the Workgroup. So Homegroup is for communicating between Win7 users and Workgroup is what it used to be. Except the default is 'WORKGROUP' so I had to change it to MSHOME. I made the mistake of loading the 64bit version of Win7 and then couldn't run the setup software for my motherboard, also my NIC driver wouldn't install, but I everything is running despite that. I don't understand why it is rating my SATA drive as 3.0 (maybe it needs the mobo driver that I can't load). And Online Help keeps thinking I'm offline, but I ain't (this reply is being typed in IE8 on Win7)
ooh... looks like it has all kinds of stuff for handwriting recognition and touch screen. Not sure if that's a bell or a whistle. Large touch screen monitors are about $600, so not yet.
Yep. I don't know what inspired me to dig it out of the CD rack. I was doing dinner (roast pork) and wanted some music while I was tooling around in the kitchen. It was just right.
