Punishment at Elementary Schools

Yesterday I was given another reason why I could never teach at an elementary school. My mom works at the grade school I used to attend. Yesterday she was telling this story about how the 4th grade boys had gotten into shooting pens. Ever taken a psychology course? People associate their emotions with the situation- that kid'll "learn his lesson." The woman in your analogy, on the other hand, will be expecting "lawsuit" up until the kidnapping when she switches to "time to report a felony."

Never in all of my education or childhood development classes was I ever taught about this method. It sounds horribly harsh and really unnecessary. It doesn't accomplish anything but give the kids a damn ulcer.

Might not have been a "method" as much as "sub is using lunch as an excuse to go ask someone."
