So my Dad is coming over tonight (so he says, he's not the reliable type). Do I tell him yet? It is his surname after all that Im ditching but Im wondering about taking the chicken way out and telling my parents after I've changed my name. For some reason Im more scared of telling my Dad then my mum. Well Im at m mums tomorrow and Ive already

may be because many people consider changing their name but few go through with it. i know you do and want to, but that may be why she didnt take you completely seriously.

i'm not the subtle type. i would say to tell them now - that way things dont get blown up when it happens. if you just explain to them calmly and rationally why you want to do it, they should be able to understand, and even if they dont agree, accept it like adults.
