Battery update

I charged the battery off my Battery Tender and took it to a battery shop and they ram a load tester on it.  It was rated for 175 CCA, it tested at 141.  Given that it's a few years old, I'd already had some starting trouble, the voltage range was a little iffy, and I dropped it on the garage floor, I decided for piece of mind and replaced it ( Read more... )

Hopefully that will cure the problem for good. Did the wiring and other bits look ok?

The battery connections looked good. I'm still trying to trace and ID the other wiring. That's tomorrow morning's activity. ^_^

usually on batteries, I'll write the installed date with a sharpie then the annual test results, you can watch them go down the tubes. But still, run your voltage checks again with the new battery that you let sit on a tender overnight. Tendering it prevents the electrical system from bulk charging it into oblivion for its first start.

I've started writing dates on oil and air filters, too. It's a good idea.
