Just finished reading The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America, about the designer of the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago and serial killer H.H. Holmes. I'd like to hear more about Schufeldt. Have you checked the Hite oeuvre? It sounds like the kind of thing he would embellish.

I was actually lead to this book by one of Hite's livejournal posts. Googled Schufeldt and didn't come up with anything interesting, and Larson's citations in the book are so woefully listed as to be unusable.
