News on Parking Rates??

Mar 04, 2013 04:20

Has anyone heard any news on special rates for the con parking at the Westin?? Haven't heard much. Called the Westin myself and they said nothing has been posted yet about a rate for the con. Just trying to finalize plans and arrange my budget. Would like to at least know if rates are being negotiated with the hotel. Any news would be awesome! :3 ( Read more... )

We have negotiated a $5 discount per day on parking. We are working with nearby lots, and lots a few blocks away that should prove to be significantly cheaper.

Do you know if this is just a one vehicle per room discount?

$5 off, or $5 a day?

Rates in the hotel itself are kind of steep. $26 - $32 before any discounts. That being said, you can pay more in the neighborhood of $10-$15 by just going a block or two away. We have a thread going on Georgiafurs dot com with some local lots scoped out and links to a parking app to help you find cheap parking. Just look in the forums under FWA. LJ prevents me from linking directly.

Are the other lots that cost less going to be as secure as the one at the Westin?

Hard to say, really. No guarantees of anything, of course.

DO NOT... DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT... I can't stress this enough... DO NOT PARK IN THE OPEN AIR "LAZ" LOTS!

The open air lots are a TERRIBLE idea.

Now, it's a bit of a hike to the new hotel, but the parking structure between the Hilton and the Sheraton, while a bit steep, never gave us any problems.

Would be good to know what lots are secure to park in before getting there, I certainly don't want a repeat of 2010 where we got our rental broken into and had to pay for damages.
