I've even heard that there was in incident where rowdy congoers actually jumped around inside an elevator in operation, causing it to fall three floors before the safety mechanism stopped it. And if some con staff don't even recognize proper elevator etiquette, than that's really bad. I couldn't believe how many people would shove into an elevator, completely ignoring fursuiters and disabled people who should ALWAYS have priority. It was very disappointing. They need to have a plan for those elevators by next year, seeing as they hopefully learned what went wrong this year. One thing's for sure, they need to supervise and regulate them like AC does.
I don't want the city to look down on us as a fandom because of the behaviors of a few this year.
You've been to 7 FWA's and this was the best one from your experience~ i'm glad you had such a good time, i did too.
as far as the elevators, i've witnessed some fursuiters get by-passed to get on the elevators for regular con goers, and it was just like... i didn't witness any extreme or rowdy elevator misbehavor. as far as it being a free-for-all to load on i think it worked (from my perspective) but a solid security regimen like at Anthrocon (Dorsi Security?) would improve efficiency next year. i noticed when they did do the lines the lines emptied very fast. also security was not vigilant in stopping people from by passing the line altogether to get right on the elevator.... in fact i, honestly, believe that the people that did this for the most part weren't even aware that there was a line... ( i did it once or twice before i recognized a perimeter set up, and then began waiting in the lines)
