#FWA2013 Con Report

Well another FWA has come and gone, overall the convention was a good experience and the board/staff/volunteers of FWA have gone out of their way to make the experience a pleasant one. There were a few items that made the weekend less than optimal but I will address these later.

I could be wrong but I do not believe that the Hilton wanted us anymore.

I too saw things that disappointed me in fellow con goers. I don't think that's the problem with the hotels. Dragon Con is way way way larger then all the furry cons combined and always exponential more crazy things go down in these buildings. Why do the hotels allow it? One reason, MONEY. Dragon Con is huge and for profit. Easy for them slip all these guys extra money to look the other way and be all cheerful. 2nd dragon con fills up every hotel in the downtown area so "outsiders" are not an issue. I think it would be better if we could find a hotel that we could fill up not have to worry as much about offending outside people because sadly, those 10% will always be there.

i enjoyed reading your thoughtful post.
seems everyone hated waiting for the elevators...
but the longest i've waited the whole time was maybe 10 minutes...
i guess during the day get what you need and return to your room
as few times as possible?

personally this is my FAVORITE FWA hotel we've been at.
i don't like the idea of splitting the con into 2 hotels because
that dillutes population density of the furries in the hotel.
(causing room parties to get shut down, etc)... like tora said
it would be better for us to get a hotel like the hilton, or marriot
and book it 90~100% which i don't even think we are that big yet...

i didn't go to FWA last year because of the hotel, to be honest.
the sheraton had no cell reception and the north/south tower was
a terrible format not conducive to con parties/party hopping.
