Akita Re-do
The goal of the redo project was to keep the mask as an Akita dog, but give him a slightly different (stern) expression. Going from Angry to Stern was a natural progression, and hopefully I did a reasonably ok job at renovating the mask. This costume now belongs to a new owner, it will be delivered to him in April.
I'll accept critique on the mask, if there is anything sticking out that's a minor change, let me know!! But any further major changes will have to be approved by its new owner.

In-Progress & Before
"Mangle" the character was not sold, but this costume was. As a result we wanted to change it enough to be a different enough character. This is a "before" and "in-between" shot of the costume.

The mask was originally built April 2008 out of an all-foam base. The eyes have been redone to be out of plastic bowl construction with buckrum pupils/irises and vinyl eyelids (former construction was plastic bowls with chiffon pupils and painted on irises). The markings have been blended together with a drybrush technique (painted on the fur using a round paintbrush) and not with an airbrush.
I'll be very happy to answer any other questions about the mask's construction!
