foam and latex is a tricky combination, it seeps in, gets VERY messy and then ends up lumpy the first time you let it dry. A few more coats should smooth it out, but don't worry if you never get it perfectly smooth by brushing, try dipping it and letting the rubber drip off with the horn stuck on a skewer or something
( ... )
I was planning on testing the foam + latex with the mini horn when I'm feeling up to it (not been well recently) but I may give the clay a go as well. Failing that, do you think fleece would work to cover it?
In regards to the sloping nose - yay! that's actually what I was aiming for! :D The original mesh base had a much longer muzzle which really REALLY sloped which I didn't like so when I redid the mesh I made it shorter with a bit less of a slant. I'll try and get pictures of me wearing the head though to see how it looks on me and if the slope is too much I'll change it :)
Cheeks: I actually didn't draw those lines as part of the mouth :P they're outlines I made for when I was cutting the foam! I just noticed that they do look like mouth lines though *grins*
Omg, I'm so excited to see this redo get made! I built that old head, years and years ago back when I was a total n00b. xD I drew the conbadge with no name on it that was included in with the auction, too!
