awesome. one of the things i hate is when people you dont know look away just so they dont have to look at you. i always smile at people.

I agree with you that eye contact is a beautiful thing. It is a powerful and almost indescribable connection between two people. Making and maintaining eye contact can be so powerful that it's almost a defense mechanism to look away. I sometimes feel I have to look away in order to keep my walls up and not let anyone in. That's kind of a weird thing to say I guess, but I feel like when people look in my eyes they can see my weaknesses and they can see what I am thinking. It is much more rewarding to maintain that eye contact for as long as possible, but it gets weird sometimes.
Is the weirdness because of the Puritan society in which we live? Or is it because the connection is just too strong? Is that a cop out? Anyway, thought I'd comment...love ya!
