I'm not feeling that great today. I hit my head in the car yesterday so what happened to Natasha Richardson has been (probably irrationally) freaking me out. But I haven't been feeling well for a while. I'm thinking about starting the MS diet which is really nothing like ( Read more... )

Ouch :( I hope you're feeling better.

What kind of diet do you need for MS? I know a thing or two about going from unhealthy eating to healthy eating.

Well, this is the diet that a lot of people with MS have said helped them: http://www.amazon.com/Multiple-Sclerosis-Diet-Book/dp/0385232799

Basically no/low fat, low dairy, no processed foods I think. I know that once I start I can't eat any red meat at all for the whole first year. It'll just be hard and sometimes I have NO willpower!

Hope your head is feeling better!

One of my friends went on the MS diet after her Dr. recommended it, but I don't know how well it worked-- she did it for about a month, lost a lot of weight, and started eating normally (note that she was scrawny to begin with, so weight loss was not an okay side effect for any treatment plan). Otherwise, though, it seemed like something she could kind of get the hang of. Maybe take babysteps into the diet? Like, cut one thing, then the next, etc?

Good luck!
