Glad she's okay. (Also, I've been thinking that's Gary in the picture with you ever since day I saw it.)

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding!!!! You win! Gary came out to Southern California with his mom about 2 years ago, I believe, to tour Disneyland and see landmarks from TV shows. One landmark he wanted to see was a frozen banana shop on Balboa Island. I live just 30 minutes from there so we made an arrangement to meet. Because I had a car and they were at the mercy of a bus tour, I was able to drive them over to the frozen banana place. We spent a delightful hour together. And I took the opportunity to bring him homemade chocolate chips cookies. Of course!

I'm glad Janie made it safely back from that last adventure-- that was a nervewracking beginning, but I remember where you'd left off before, and it was not looking good for her.

“I’m sure Mama Owusu’s potion reflects centuries of trial and error. That’s not that different from scientific experimentation.”
Exactly! Westerners rarely think of it that way, but it's true. :)

As a child, I spent much of my free time imagining I was living the life of a native in the forest. I've long been fascinated with the many uses native people have pried out of the plants they had at hand. This is one reason I think the show "Naked and Afraid" is bogus. No native person ever plunked themselves down in the wilderness with NOTHING.

I want one of those feathers. I'm glad you continued the series. This was a worthy addition and I hope you get the chance to write more.

Thank you! When I wrote the Mars series, it seems like it was somewhat easier to just continue the story, regardless of the prompts. (Or maybe I just got lucky with the timing of those prompts.) This time, it seems like the prompts are dictating where I'll go more. Then again, I always worry whether readers will say, Oh no, not that story again!
